organizations striving to bridge the digital divide in rural and urban-poor communities.
European support is welcome but currently does not qualify for charitable tax receipts.

Basis Canada focuses on overall strategy,
program development, and partner support.
Basis (Germany)
Basis Germany focuses on the complete IT infrastructure of the Basis Learning Centres.
Basis (USA)
Basis USA focuses on program implementation as well as online and offline curriculum development.

Thomas Saverimuthu
Co-founder & CTO
Thomas Saverimuthu, an India-born visionary, entrepreneur, and IT specialist, co-founded Basis in 2013. Thomas, in the role of CTO, is the brilliant mind behind the IT infrastructure of our Basis Learning Centres.
His dream: to connect youth and young adults to opportunities from which they might otherwise be cut off due to their life's circumstances.
Christina de Jong
Co-founder & CEO
Christina de Jong, co-founder and CEO, brings more than twenty-five years of passionate learning, organizational, marketing and communications experience to Basis.

Her dream: equipping every Basis learner with the problem-solving skills and the optimism they need to take on challenges and pursue their dreams.

Sasquia Antúnez Pineda
Board Member
Sasquia Antúnez Pineda
developed a strong interest in non-profits in university, and she eventually pursued a graduate Master of Theological Studies and International Development degree at Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto in Canada.

Sasquia is playing a key role in Basis' strategic development.

Sangita Iyer
Board Member
Sangita Iyer holds a Masters in Psychology and is a certified Positive Psychology Educator. She heads up her own positive education institute with the vision of helping children,
teens, parents, teachers, and institutions flourish.
Her recent documentary
Gurucool: Shifting Mindsets, which tackles the subject of education in India, has been screened at a number of festivals at home and abroad.

Jeremy Mullin
Board Member
Jeremy Mullin is a senior leader in the public affairs space, and is currently the Vice President of Public Affairs at Savanta Group - a leading global research firm serving the public sector.
He holds award-winning degrees in finance from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the University of Toronto. He is also a Certified Analytics and Insights Professional (CAIP).
